EVRAZ plc (LSE: EVR) today releases its operational results for the second quarter of 2013.

One of the stated priorities of the management of EVRAZ Vítkovice Steel (EVS) is to protect the health of its employees at work and minimize the impact of company activities on the environment. The priority is confirmed by the new, successful certification of the company in the work safety system, compliant with the international standard OHSAS 18001, and at the same time a successful outcome of the extension audit of the system of environmentally focused management EN ISO 14001, which was also re-confirmed by the certification company TÜV NORD Czech.

The companies VÍTKOVICE and EVRAZ Vítkovice Steel have agreed to continue developing their business relationships. As a result, the managements of the two firms, the engineering-oriented VÍTKOVICE and the steel producer EVRAZ Vítkovice Steel, have signed contracts about the new supplies of services, including transport and industrial gasses. The agreement also calls for finding peaceful solutions to all disputes and issues of disagreement. 

EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL will resume operations at the steel mill. The planned date of resumption is May 1st, 2013.

A hockey wager helped children from kindergartens in the Třinec area acquire new polytechnic building blocks worth 60.000 CZK. The stakes were to determine which of the two teams, HC Vítkovice Steel or HC Oceláři Třinec, will rank higher after the first round of the playoffs. The team supported by Třinecké železárny ranked higher than HC Vítkovice, whose general partner is EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL.
