The company EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. will participate in the 7th year of the prestigious project SYMBIOSIS 2008 which will take place on March 19, 2008 in the new auditorium of the Technical University in Ostrava. The objective of this fair of job opportunities is to provide the people interested with complete information on the possibilities of a professional career in companies and to provide the companies with the maximal knowledge on potential employees and to provide direct contact of the employers with the students and graduates from universities in the Moravian-Silesian region.

"We take our participation in SYMBIOSIS 2008 very seriously. Our aim is to offer job opportunities especially to graduates of metallurgical programmes of the Technical University of Ostrava," says the general manager, Mr. Vladimír Bail, Ph.D. and adds: "Our company has a long tradition - this year we are celebrating a 100th anniversary of the commencement of the constructions of our plant. We are a part of one of the leading, vertically integrated steel-making and mining companies, we are developing continuously and working for us has great prospects." "The greatest interest we have is in the graduates from metallurgy and engineering technology, to whom we offer a one-year adaptation process in our Preparation Centre," adds the personnel manager Jan Polzer. The Preparation Centre is an ideal helper with acquiring practical and theoretical experience with the operation of a prospering metallurgical company. "Successful participants of the Preparation Centre are offered a permanent employment which ensures their further professional and career growth," informs Jan Polzer.

The presentation of the company at SYMBIOSIS 2008 was designed to be as close to young people as possible; it is dynamic, modern and it also includes presentations of important references of the company.

The company EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL has been cooperating with the Technical University of Ostrava for a long time. The students are offered professional trainings, cooperation on diploma theses, consultations and oppositions to theses as well as cooperation on solutions of topical projects.

EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL concentrates on the production of steel and steel products - heavy plates, heavy and medium sections, and flame-cut shapes from heavy plates. The company aims to continue increasing the sales of its products with high added value, such as deliveries of plates for pipelines. Thanks to the important support of the Evraz Group and its strong position on the Russian steel market the company has also successfully entered the Russian market of the pipeline industry. In the sphere of plates EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL is the main European manufacturer and the dominant manufacturer in the Czech Republic. The most important product of Heavy section rolling mill is sheet piles which represents a 65 % share of the mill's production. The company is the sole manufacturer of this product on the domestic market and holds a 90% market share.
