The EVRAZ Charity Fund announced the second call for applications for 2012

Ostrava. The EVRAZ Charity Fund (ECF) invites the applicants for a grant to submit their applications for the second time this year. Organizations from the Moravian-Silesian region that are helping handicapped children and children with cerebral palsy can submit their projects by October 31, 2012. The amount ready for the approved projects from second call is 5 million crowns. In the first round that was completed in April the fund received 66 applications. The ECF Board of Trustees decided to grant a total of 3.7 million crowns for 32 non-profit projects from the Moravian-Silesian region.

“Since 2005, ECF has supported over 180 projects from the social area, health-care area, science and education, culture and sports, worth more than 57 million crowns“ informed Dmitrij Scuka, the Chairman of the ECF Board.

“We have been a part of the region for a long period of time; we have been working here and living here. We are glad that our money can help wherever necessary” added Dmitrij Scuka.

The sponsored projects from this April include “Dysolympics Together 2012” organized by the logopaedic elementary school in Ostrava, equipment for the “Sensory Garden” for the special needs elementary school and kindergarten in Nový Jičín or purchasing of utilities for expansion of pediatric rehabilitation facilities in a health-care institution in Krnov.

The employees of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL can also submit their applications again within the project titled “EVRAZ People Help”. In 2012, 7 projects submitted by the employees have been implemented already.
