Between January 29 and February 3, 2012 the Moravian-Silesian Region with the support of the Evraz Charity Fund hosted the 5^th Winter Olympics for Children and Youth of the Czech Republic.

On December 2 – 3, 2011 the Černá louka Exhibition Grounds in Ostrava hosted the 18^th year of exhibition focusing on education. EVS traditionally participated at the exhibition.

Specialists in HR met on 29 November, 2011 in EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL and discussed the topic "Sharing the best recruitment methods". The discussion focused on ethics in communication of the employer, the most common obstacles in the recruitment of employees, the potential of social networks and their efficiency, the application of psychodiagnostic tools and their evaluation.

Both the American Petroleum Institute (API) and TÜV NORD carried out a Quality Management System recertification audit at EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL and found EVS processes compatible with EN ISO 9001.

Children supported by the Evraz Charity Fund and children of employees of EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL spent Friday June 24th at Ostrava Zoo.

DAYS OF RUSSIA took place in Ostrava between June 13th and June 17th. EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL is a traditional partner of the event, which focuses on mutual co-operation between the Czech Republic and the Russian federation.
