The representatives of the VÍTKOVICE STEEL Charity Fund awarded donation pledges to the successful applicants eligible for financial support

The signing and award of donation pledges to successful applicants for financial support under Call I 2015 took place today in the Ostrava MERCURE Hotel. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the VÍTKOVICE STEEL Charity Fund (hereafter as the “Charity Fund”) Dmitry Ščuka and a board member of the Charity Fund Hana Hoblíková awarded representatives of organizations and individuals from the Moravian-Silesian Region as well as the employees of VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s.

Until April 12 this year applicants could send their applications for financial support from the Charity Fund, which was subsequently assessed by the Board of Directors of the Charity Fund. It eventually decided to support a total of seven projects concerning activities for children and the elderly, health care, social needs, sports, etc., amounting to 2.05 million CZK. Under the programme "People of Steel Help ", it supported 10 employee projects focused mainly on leisure activities for children in the amount of 428,000 CZK. The supported projects include, for example, the project of modernization and renewal of instrumentation for the surgical outpatient hospital department in Frýdek-Místek, a leisure-time project of the Czech Boy Scout Club (Junák) in Ostrava, and support to young and beginner aircraft modellers in Třinec.

Another project call for applicants for financial support of their projects should be opened this autumn. The Board of Directors of the VÍTKOVICE STEEL Charity Fund will allocate under this call financial support of up to an additional three million CZK for projects submitted by the end of 2015.
