OSTRAVA June 1st 2007 - Merger between the VITKOVICE STEEL, a.s. and its only shareholder ABA Assets s.r.o. was recorded into the Business Registry on June 1st 2007. On that date, the above named enterprises cease to exist and instead, a new succession company EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL, a.s. was created.

VÍTKOVICE STEEL is currently intensely preparing its participation at the 6th year of a prestigious project called SYMBIÓZA 2007. The company successfully participated in two previous years and the result is 4 recruited college graduates who started working with the company and 2 graduates admitted to the Preparation Center.

Like many other companies in the Moravian-Silesian Region, VÍTKOVICE STEEL is aware of a lack of technical and mainly steel making professions on the labor market. Another factor is the fact that many experienced workers are retiring and will continue retiring. Average age of employees in VÍTKOVICE STEEL is over 40 and it is going up.
