Dmitrij Ščuka, Chairman of EVRAZ Vítkovice Steel officially presented a phototherapy lamp for treatment of neonatal jaundice to the children’s ward of the Municipal Hospital in Ostrava (MNO). Dr. Tomáš Nykel, Director of MNO accepted the donation in the amount of CZK 60,000, which comes from the ice hockey wager made in October of last year between representatives of EVRAZ Vítkovice Steel, a.s. and TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a.s. 

The company EVRAZ Vítkovice Steel, a.s. and the ZO OS KOVO Vítkovice Ocelárna a Válcovny trade union negotiated an annex to the Collective agreement.

Representatives of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL and TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY have made a friendly wager about which of the teams, sponsored by the respective companies, will score the first goal of the teams’ first joint ice hockey match. The wager was made during the steel derby of the HC VÍTKOVICE STEEL and HC Oceláři Třinec teams on Friday October 18, 2013 in ČEZ Aréna, an Ostrava sports stadium. Each side waged thirty thousand Czech crowns, meaning that the whole sixty thousand Czech crowns go to the winner, the selected project in its region.
