EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL has supplied 416 tonnes of plates for the construction of unique KK1300 dredging machines for brown-coal open cast mines. This dredging machine is the first type of machine completed in the Czech Republic for the mining company Severoceske doly for almost 25 years. The biggest dredging machine operating in the Czech Republic was commemoratively put into production in the presence of the Czech president Vaclav Klaus on June 6th, 2011. The dredging machine is impressive in its size: 53 m high and is as long as two football pitches. Its weight - 5,000 tonnes - is equivalent to 2,700 Skoda Octavia cars.
