The Children's Hospice Care Centre was opened on the premises of a former preschool in Ostrava-Zabreh on Gurtjevova Street. It provides comprehensive services for terminally-ill child patients who need palliative care, for whom if hospice services are absent, would have had to remain in a hospital or other medical facility.The VÍTKOVICE STEEL Charity Fund is the main donor for both instrumentation and other equipment of the care centre, and at the same time it purchased a Škoda Yeti 2.0 TDI 4x4 Activ passenger car for the hospice. The above equipment serves to provide comprehensive care of the terminally ill and to expand services in the field of children's palliative care. The total donation exceeded 900,000 CZK.
