The senior management of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. in line with the strategic objectives of the company publishes the following Quality Policy with an objective to fully meet the requirements and expectations of our customers and all stakeholders, continuously improve the efficiency of the quality management systems, gradually implement elements necessary for fulfillment of the EFQM excellence model and to be successful in business. This Quality Policy defines the key objectives and principles of our organization:

Customer focus

• Recognizing and analyzing the current as well as future needs of our customers
• Meeting the needs and expectations of our customers
• Measuring the customer satisfaction and initiation of other activities on the basis of the results of these measurements

Leadership

• Provision of education, training, and leadership to employees
• Defining the strategic objectives of the organization
• Furnishing the employees with the resources necessary for activities within the scope of their responsibilities
• Creating such work environment which positively affects meeting the quality requirements and at the same time enables meeting the published objectives and targets of the organization

Involvement of employees

• Using the knowledge, ability, and skill of all employees of the organization for control of processes
• Developing the level of the professional competency of employees
• Active seeking of opportunities for improvement

Process oriented approach

• Apprehension of activities in the organization as interrelated processes
• Defining the processes for fulfillment of the required results in the organization
• Defining the process interfaces together with the functions of the organization and definition of clear responsibilities and authorities for process control

Systemized approach towards management

• Assertion, development and continuous improvement of a quality management system as per the provisions of ČSN EN ISO 9001:2001 and API spec. Q1 leading to meeting the needs and expectations of our customers and all interested parties

• Continuous improvement of products, efficacy and efficiency of all processes, quality management system and timely adoption of prevention actions
• Using the incentives from employees for improved efficiency of all processes and activities

• Analyzing data and information with the use of effective methods
• Assertion of team work for decision-making and for solution of quality issues

• Monitoring the performance and evaluating the competency of our suppliers
• Creating and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with our suppliers

To meet this Quality Policy, the management of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. undertakes:

• to maintain, develop, and continuously improve the quality management systems in line with the requirements of the ISO 9000 series standards and API spec. Q1
• on a regular basis every year to announce the Objectives supporting the policy and to regularly check the fulfillment of these Objectives
• to create and provide sufficient resources for implementation of the Quality Policy, Quality Objectives, including the strategic objectives defined in the business plan
• to communicate within the organization the importance of meeting the requirements of the customer as well as meeting the statutory requirements and the requirements of internal guidelines
• to supply the customer with products with the highest possible quality
• to provide the shareholders, employees, and the customers with information on the quality management systems related topics
• to prevent the occurrence of non-conformities through active use of preventive actions
• to motivate and systematically increase the expertise of our employees related to quality control
