49th International Engineering Fair

On October 1, 2007 at 10 a.m., the Chairman of the Board and CEO of the company EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. Mr.Vladimír Bail and Mr. Petr Jůza, the Board Member and the Finance Director of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. cut the “ribbon” at the opening of the company exposition at the 49th International Engineering Trade-Fair in Brno. Having a glass of sparkling wine, of course, with beautiful hostesses and in nice, informal atmosphere. During the day there were meetings with business partners of the company, in the atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect. The exposition visitors appreciated its appearance and lay-out, dynamic presentations included an amazing project of the currently largest passenger ship named the “Liberty of the Seas” fitted with thick plates manufactured by EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s.

On the second exhibition day, the company Press conference was opened at 10 a.m. Fifteen journalists, including those from those from the Czech TV and Czech Radio, raised questions and received answers from the Board Chairman and CEO of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. Mr. Vladimír Bail and Mr. Petr Jůza, the Board Member and Finance Director of EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. In the afternoon the main event was the Company Day organized for business partners, opened at 2 p.m. by a short address of the company CEO. There was a nice surprise when Mr. Bail was awarded with a memorial coin on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the “Vítkovická lahvárna“ plant, handed over by the CEO of the Vítkovice Holding, a.s., Mr. Jan Světlík. The company meeting was a nice gathering of interesting persons, with good food, drinks and entertainment, all that accompanied by decent jazz music performed by Boris Urbánek and Michal Žáček, the top Czech instrumentalists. There were great expectations with respect to the visit of a commission that evaluated individual expositions within the competition “The Most Attractive Exposition AURA 2007“ at the International Engineering Trade-Fair. The last-year position among the best ones was binding.

On the third trade-fair day the information was communicated that pleased all fans and supporters of EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL. The company exposition was awarded with the First prize in its category, in the competition “The Most Attractive Exposition AURA 2007", organized by the company Brno Trade-Fairs and Exhibitions, a.s. A special commission under the supervision of Ms Hana Ryšavá evaluated the architectonic and designing concept and solution, visual design, operation and functionality of the exhibition exposition, in four categories.

The final design of the exposition stand was created based on clearly defined requirements and was selected from the architectonic competition. The winning design was created by the architect Mr. Zdeněk Škrla and then the whole exposition concept was finalized. As for the other team members, there were the academic sculptor Mr. Boris Holub, the Art Director of Agentura API, s.r.o. and Ms Renáta Kapolková - Mecová from the API Agency who was the producer of the trade-fair exposition. The exposition was then realized by the company Veletrhy Brno, a.s.

The architectonic and designing concept and solution were namely focused on the change in the company name from VÍTKOVICE STEEL to EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL, as well as on the requirement for dominant information in the area of the company reference products. The dominant area of the exposition declared the new company logo with the evident link between the old and new company name. The exposition design clearly defined its individual parts, including meeting points for various levels of negotiations and hidden premises for back-up services and storage places. The functionalist elements are in contract with photos and plasmatic screens continuously showing the film presentation. All that creates the dynamic sequence of events that, together with the overall exposition concept, attracts every visitor, not regarding whether they are experts or laymen.

The exposition was topped up with appropriate accessories and hostesses´ outfit corresponding with the exposition colouring.
