Accredited Testing Laboratories VÍTKOVICE STEEL No. 1634
VÍTKOVICE STEEL testing laboratories are accredited by the Czech Institute for Accreditation, o.p.s on the basis of meeting the requirements of the ČSN EN ISO / IEC 17025: 2018 standard. VÍTKOVICE STEEL testing laboratories are a member of the Association of Czech Testing Laboratories, z. s.
The laboratories are part of the organizational structure of VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. and as part of their activities, they have long been actively involved in testing the mechanical properties of the products of the VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. portfolio.
Offered services
- We mainly carry out destructive tests of mechanical properties of metallic materials such as tensile test at ambient and elevated temperatures, impact bending test, hardness test, bending test, weld testing, etc. In the chemical laboratory we perform radioactivity determination.
- Newly we can carry out metalographic examination (material-structure evaluation) by the method of „ Testing and assessment of macrostructure“ and „ Macrographic examination by sulphur print“ so called Baumann imprint.
- Short periods of testing carried out, an individual approach, fast action and attractive prices (prices of individual tests are sent on request).
- The testing laboratories have introduced a non-accredited method for customers “measurement of the deviation of the perpendicularity of the fired edge and the average height of the profile Rz5.

Mechanical test room
The Mechanical Properties Laboratory performs the following tests:
- Tensile tests at ambient temperatures (circular and flat) in the range of 1.25 kN to 1600 kN,
- Tensile tests at elevated temperatures (circular) in the range of 1.25 kN to 125 kN, up to +900 °C,
- Impact tests in bending using an impact hammer with a nominal energy of 450 J,in the range of test temperatures up to -80 °C,
- Vickers, Brinell and Rockwell hardness tests over a wide range of measuring scales,
- Bending tests,
- Stress tests perpendicular to the surface (in the thickness direction) – lamellar cracking,
- Breakage tests,
- Welding tests – bending,
- Determination of radioactivity of the material,
- Test of macrostructure using sulfide imprints (Baumann imprint),
- Testing and assessment of macrostructure.
- Measurement of the deviation of the perpendicularity of the fired edge and the average height of the Rz5 profile.
