More efficient project management
A central project office has been established to oversee not only investment projects, but also production, process and IT projects.
The new year has brought new challenges. The influence of our new owner is gradually becoming apparent not only at the level of strategic management, but also at the process and project levels. In addition to focusing on new reporting for the owner and streamlining our production process and sales, we are currently addressing the area of project management and the creation of a Central Project Office (PMO).
What should be the main objective of the project office?
- To centralise the projects running in our company in one central location
- To cover not only investment projects, but also production, process and purely IT projects
- To effectively monitor the progress of all selected strategic projects important to both parties (the owner and our company)
- To have process-controllable mechanisms in place that ensure a sufficiently good overview and basis for further decision-making
- Keep records of opportunities that could become potential and strategic projects
- Be a good support for strategic decision-making by management, between the new owner and our management, between departments and our management
In April, an introductory meeting was held to establish a project office, where ideas were put on the table about how it should run and what it should cover, as well as how decisions on strategic projects should be made. The introductory meeting laid the foundations for the creation of a central project office. The entire process of operation and setup is still in its early stages, and we will report on further developments and progress in one of our next issues.
