We have an ambitious investment plan
For 2025, the company’s management has approved a comprehensive investment plan worth CZK 370 million, which includes projects across all areas of the company. The investments will focus on maintenance, operations, technology, IT and occupational safety.
One major project, for example, will be the modernisation of the pairing line at TPT, where the press and hydraulics will be replaced. This change will lead to a significant increase in the line’s performance.
One of the most significant projects of the year will be the increase in billet burning capacity in Hall 5. At the end of 2024, in cooperation with the purchasing and investment departments, KOMA Industry was selected through a tender process and began preparing the documentation for the construction in January. The implementation of the project itself will take approximately six months. Production continuity will be ensured by preparatory work, which will take place while the existing burning centre is in full operation. Given the scope of the project and its implementation during operation, successful completion will require precise planning and cooperation between all departments.
To streamline logistics processes, projects for shipping are also planned for 2025. For example, there are plans to analyse and study the expansion of sheet metal shipping, build a new sheet metal loading point in the batch preparation section, and introduce barcode readers at TPT.
The IT department is preparing projects such as upgrading the production database, purchasing a developer licence for IFS Cloud, and purchasing a new UPS for Kvarto.
The testing laboratory plans to purchase new equipment, such as a grinder, polisher, and microscope. The asset management department will focus on the reconstruction of the shower area in changing rooms 1200, a project to utilise waste heat from Kvarto operations, the revitalisation of the Kvarto social building, the modernisation of cabins at Kvarto and TPT, and the upgrade of the Energis energy management programme.
The maintenance department plans to implement 17 new projects. These include, for example: LDS – local distribution system, modernisation of rolling mill drives, rolling mill control system.
The Occupational Safety and Ecology Department has plans for projects such as the construction of a pressure cylinder storage facility, the installation of fire safety equipment and an electronic fire alarm system.
The Engineering Department is planning 22 projects, including the modernisation of the sheet pile handling process, the replacement of the TPT saw grinding machine, and the modernisation of the Kvartu roller grinding machine.
The investment plan for 2025 represents the largest investment budget in recent years and demonstrates our company’s commitment to developing projects across all areas – from maintenance and operations, through technology, to IT, logistics, facilities and occupational safety. We believe that the implementation of these projects will bring long-term improvements to our production, increase productivity and, at the same time, strengthen the stability and safety of our operations.
