ZBYNEK KVAPIK APPOINTED CHAIRMAN AND CEO OF EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL

May 22, 2009 – Evraz Group (LSE: EVR) ("Evraz") announced an appointment of Mr. Zbynek Kvapik as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Evraz Vitkovice Steel, Evraz’s subsidiary in Czech Republic.

Mr. Kvapik graduated from the Ostrava Technical University with a degree in Metallurgy and Material Engineering. After joining the Vitkovice plant in 1983 Zbynek Kvapik held various engineering and managerial positions through to 2001 when he was appointed Managing Director and Member of the Board of Vitkovice Steel (Evraz Vitkovice Steel since 2007).

In his new role Zbynek Kvapik succeeds Mr. Vladimir Bail who tendered his resignation as Chairman of the Board and CEO of Evraz Vitkovice Steel with effective date of 21 May 2009.
