17. 8. 2011 EVRAZ VÍTKOVICE STEEL strives to improve not only work safety but also conditions in the workplace. The company has completed the first part of the project to repair its changing rooms. The refurbished changing rooms on the fifth floor of the rolling mill building were presented to the employees by Zbynek Kvapik, CEO and Chairman of the Board of EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL. The project involves the repair and refurbishment of the changing rooms in the 3.5 m Four-High rolling mill. The rooms are to be used by approximately 800 employees.
The new changing rooms are equipped according to the latest standards and have improved water circulation and air conditioning systems. Energy savings, water savings and the safety and high comfort of the employees were crucial points in the planning of the refurbishment. The investment into the changing rooms on the fifth floor will be closely followed by the refurbishment of three more changing rooms in the rolling mill. The refurbishment of each changing room takes approximately 7 weeks. "We have endeavored to cut the time needed for the refurbishment of changing rooms to the minimum in order to have all the changing rooms refurbished by the end of the year," says Zbynek Kvapik.
"The refurbishment of changing rooms is part of EVRAZ's corporate strategic program committed to providing employees with better and safer working conditions. It is very important to set up such an environment where employees feel comfortable and safe," stated Hana Jelinkova, HR director of EVRAZ VITKOVICE STEEL. "For us, healthy and safe conditions are key elements to successful work."
After finishing the refurbishment of the rolling mill's changing rooms, a similar refurbishment is planned to take place next year in the Changing Rooms 1200 facilities, which are key for employees working in the company's other centers.
