The new, pro-active business policy at VÍTKOVICE STEEL a. s., which the company managed to implement very successful, will bring customers faster and higher quality fulfillment of their requirements. The goal is to strengthen the company’s position on the domestic market and obtain new, prospective contacts.

The business strategy is the result of an extensive internal audit and external qualitative and quantitative analyses, which the company management ordered in 1Q. 2004. The conclusions clearly indicated the large opportunity in replacing steel plates imports of eastern provenience, particularly from Ukraine.

“The new business policy anticipates a focus on both important end consumers and wholesalers with their own distribution networks. An attractive novelty is the newly implemented sales motivation system. We see an opportunity in the accumulation and unification of orders from end processors. Optimistic forecasts anticipate the more effective use of the capacities of our production equipment,” informs Vladimír Bail, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a. s. “An important pillar of the newly activated business policy is the progressive improvement of quality in development and production, while maintaining advantageous price levels. Priority must also be given to complex orders, where VÍTKOVICE STEEL will be capable of fulfilling the requirements of end consumers within short delivery deadlines in cooperation with the buyers,” adds V. Bail.

The customers and their needs are at the core of decisions about production. This will be registered not only by our most important domestic partners, such as Ferona, Femax, Karla, Investcom Paskov, but also by Revmont, Tenzo, Universal Steel and Ferox. The positive changes will be reflected in the more effective use of technical, technological, human and spatial capacities. The main sectors, on which the production of VÍTKOVICE STEEL is focussed, include the production of pressure vessels, steel structures for the construction of bridges and halls, or railway cargo and cistern wagons. The company shows a traditionally strong position in production for the machinery industry (road and building machines, undercarriage parts for high-capacity transport machines or towers for wind power plants). Plates for the shipbuilding industry (cosntruction of river and coastal naval vessels) are an independent and equally successful market segment, where VÍTKOVICE STEEL achieves excellent results.
