VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. has become a certified supplier of plates for the petroleum industry on the North American market. Some time ago, representatives of the American Petroleum Institute (API) completed an inspection audit and awarded the company with a certificate that opens the way to customers among renown companies, suppliers of oil and gas pipelines. Currently, VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. is negotiating the supplies of the above mentioned plates.

Based on the preliminary results, last year VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. increased sales to 9.085 billion crowns, which is more by six percent than in 2002 when the company’s sales were 8.6 billion crowns. Also the last year profit will be higher.

VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s. completed collective bargaining of terms and conditions for 2004 and the subsequent two years. The management agreed with the trade unions that nominal wages and salaries will increase this year by 3.9 percent.
